The Devaney Family

My friends Cara and Kris had recently welcomed a new pink bundle of joy to their family. The arrival of Lyla Emma Devaney was much to the delight of a besotted Mum and Dad, big brother Blair and of course the doting grandparents fresh off the plane from Northern Ireland.

In order to capture the new 'gentleman's family' in all it's glory, I spent the afternoon in Yarraville at their family home taking these shots.

As these shots prove the whole family (especially Blair and Lyla) were complete naturals in front of the big lens...

Claire & Stuart's Wedding - The wedding that POPPED with colour

Claire and Stuart asked me back in February to be their official wedding photographer for the day.  With just having completed my first wedding as an assistant and experiencing a) what is expected of a wedding photographer, b) picking up some of the tricks of the trade and c) undergoing the high pressure environment to get 'that shot', I thought it was about time to come out of my comfort zone and really test whether the world of wedding photography was for me...and I accepted my first ever full on traditional white wedding...

Except it wasn't all white.... in fact much to my delight and to the delight of the guests it was a full on colour explosion which reflected the sunny and fun personalities of the bride and groom and their high jinx bridal party.

With the ceremony following the more traditional route at Geelong Grammar Chapel, the reception was in stark contrast and held at the ultra trendy and retro 'At The Heads' at Barwon Heads.  The vintage baby powder blue 'beach house' proved to be a fantastic backdrop to the bold blue and multi-coloured posies of the bridal party.  The views from the jetty out to sea were simply stunning.  The mix of colour, location and fun bride and groom made it a day to remember.

I may be biased but this was definitely my favourite traditional wedding gig as a photographer so far ;)
